| Whether
you have just a few hours or several days to spend in Summerville,
we know you'll find plenty to do. A wide variety of dining,
shopping, lodging and recreational opportunities are waiting
for you to explore.
ONE DAY ITINERARY
Start your visit at the Summerville Visitor Center (402
N. Main St.) Pick up some free brochures and a free walking
tour brochure (PDF)
for a stroll through Summerville's historic district. The
spectacular Southern architecture is breathtakingly beautiful.
In spring, this walking tour leads to an eye-opening experience
of blooming azaleas in vibrant colors, especially in Azalea
Park (PDF),
a 12-acre park that contains a collection of exceptional
public sculptures. If the kids are getting antsy, drive over
to Gahagan Park --
there's a great playground there to tire them out. Tell the
friendly staff at the Visitor Center what your interests
are and they are happy to suggest places to shop, eat, stay,
and things to do.
If you have more time, have lunch or dinner in
one of the great restaurants in Summerville (see Dining).
If you want to experience the finest that Summerville
has to offer, try Woodlands Resort & Inn, a
5-star resort with elegant accommodations and gourmet dining.
It's an experience you'll never forget. Then shop/browse the
shops and boutiques in Summerville's Town Square and Short
Central areas. There are many antique stores in
Summerville and the Visitor Center has a free map of their
locations. The national stores such as Target, Marshalls,
TJ Maxx, Wal-Mart are closer to Interstate 26 at Azalea
Square Shopping Center, as are more restaurants
and a modern multi-screen movie theater.
