Meet the Judges

of the 2025 Summerville
Sweet Tea Cocktail Contest


Three judges have been carefully appointed to evaluate our sweet tea cocktail entries for the prestigious Critic's Choice Award, taking into account factors like taste, presentation, and originality. We appreciate their dedication of time and expertise!

Anna McSwain serves as the Marketing and Investor Relations Administrator for Economic Development in Dorchester County, where she plays a key role in promoting strategic growth and strengthening community partnerships to enhance quality of life across the region.  A proud Summerville native, Anna is deeply invested in the region’s success. Outside of her professional work, she is known for her creative perspective and artistic talents, and is an active volunteer passionate about giving back and supporting local initiatives.

Jason Russo is the Director of Sales at the Hilton and Lowcountry Conference Center in Nexton.  He is married to Melanie and has two boys, Cruz (12) & Sawyer (9).  

Jason has been in the hospitality industry since 1997 specializing in event management, restaurants, and hotel sales. He is currently a board member of the Summerville Chamber, Summerville Evening Rotary Club, and the Summerville Kiwanis club. 

Beth Messervy has called Summerville home for 42 of her 45 years, deeply rooted in the community she proudly serves. For the past eight years, she has worked as the Town Clerk for the Town of Summerville municipal government. A two-time graduate of the University of South Carolina and a devoted Gamecock fan, Beth balances her professional life with raising her two sons, Hoby (15) and Jake (10). She enjoys college football season, relaxing at the beach, oyster roasts on chilly evenings, a good glass of wine, and spending time at Top Golf with her boys.
